MSD Animal Health offers products for multiple species and diseases. AQUAVAC® Strep Si should be used to aid in the protection against Streptococcus iniae infections in susceptible species like Asian sea bass and tilapia.

What is AQUAVAC® Strep Si?

AQUAVAC® Strep Si induces protective immunity in warm water fish against streptococcus caused by S. iniae. It can be administered through a bath immersion for fish 3 grams and above and through injection for fish larger than 20 grams. The vaccine has been proved to offer protection for at least 12 weeks in lab studies and 34 weeks in field trials.

Causative Agent: Streptococcus iniae

Indications: Aid in the protection against S. iniae infections in tilapia, seabass and any other susceptible fish species. Can be administrated via an immersion bath or direct injection.

Administration/Dosage: Vaccination by dip immersion is recommended for fish 3 grams and above while intraperitoneal injection is recommended from 20 grams or more. When using the injection method, use 0.1 ml of the vaccine and insert intraperitoneally on the ventral side of the fish. If using the dip immersion method, combine one liter of vaccine and 9 liters of sea water and follow the directions listed on the bottle. Stress should be avoided before and after vaccination. Sterile equipment and healthy stock should also be standard when administering vaccines.
